Oyster mushrooms, or Pleurotus ostreatus are great for beginner growers. Within weeks you will enjoy your first crop of mushrooms grown indoors on your counter top.

Kits may also be grown outdoors during the spring and fall.

A humid environment is important to mushroom formation, and can be created by misting water from a spray bottle into a humidity tent.

All natural ingredients. Your kit contains a mushroom culture grown on pure hardwood sawdust and organic Canadian wheat bran. No chemical fertilizers or pesticides are used.

Fruiting instructions can be found on our "Learn" page.

Kit size ~1.9kg (4lb+)

**Your mushroom kit can also be expanded into more mushroom kits, or used as sawdust spawn to inoculate logs!

Oyster Grow Kit

  • Pleurotus ostreatus, the pearl oyster mushroom or tree oyster mushroom, is a common edible mushroom. It was first cultivated in Germany as a subsistence measure during World War I[2] and is now grown commercially around the world for food. It is related to the similarly cultivated king oyster mushroom. Oyster mushrooms can also be used industrially for mycoremediation purposes.

The oyster mushroom is one of the more commonly sought wild mushrooms, though it can also be cultivated on straw and other media.
